Private Red Army, Martyr
Almighty God, who didst give thy servant Ivan boldness to confess the Name of thy Son before the leaders of the Red Army, and courage to die for his faith: Grant that we may always be ready to give a reason for the hope that is in us, and to suffer gladly for the sake of the same or Lord Jesus Christ; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, now and ever, Amen

1 Peter 4:12-19
Ivan was a young Christian man drafted into the Red Army. Letters to home indicated he was being persecuted for his faith and practice of prayer. On 16 July 1972 he died. The family reported that his body showed evidence of being severly beaten.
